Compass Datacenters To Build Second Data Center Facility For American Electric Power (AEP)

Compass Datacenters has completed an agreement with American Electric Power (AEP) to build a second data center facility in southwestern Ohio that expands the company’s IT infrastructure and supports its resiliency strategy for IT operations. Compass built AEP’s primary data center facility in New Albany, Ohio in 2015 – a project that was recognized for excellence in the data center industry. AEP is one of the largest producers of electricity in the United States, and it operates and maintains the nation’s largest electricity transmission system.

“AEP’s approach to data center infrastructure is to ensure that its needs are met today and well into the future, with flexibility to adapt over time. Our original project for AEP included close collaboration throughout the design and construction process – from blueprints to live operations,” said Jared Day, President and CFO of Compass Datacenters. “We are excited to be working with AEP as part of this strategic initiative to add data center capabilities that support their current and future customer requirements.”
